Vigilant was established in 2000 with the aim to provide the most professional security consultancy service in the United Kingdom. We advise and service both prominent companies and individuals.

Vigilant is operated by former Service Officers and civilian experts. We maintain the highest standards and strive to combine a gentlemanly approach with quality, service and the very latest technology and techniques available.

Vigilant staff have live experience, gained in some of the most hazardous environments in the world, in all the services offered.

Vigilant's guarding service offers experience, maturity and pride in performance. Guarding operations are managed entirely by former Service Officers and Non- Commissioned Officers. Vigilant security officers are drawn from disciplined backgrounds with 90 being ex-Service or Police.

Vigilant place the highest emphasis on key areas: training, operational management, personal aptitude, professional skills, recruitment, motivation and administrative support. Above all we encourage the highest standards of performance and pride in the success of the operation in hand.

We select only those personnel who display ability, professionalism and crucially, reflect well on both Vigilant and your organisation. Staff are trained to the appropriate industry standards and in addition are trained in the Vigilant Security ethos to ensure that company standards are maintained at all times. Staff drawn directly from the services follow a further programme to ensure they are thoroughly prepared for the different requirements of operating in the civilian context.

Vigilant's vetting procedures conform with the highest recognised standard, BS 7499, and the company's personnel files are inspected annually by the industry regulator, the ISI.

All sites guarded by Vigilant are visited every 24 hours at irregular intervals by operational managers to inspect, support and motivate our security officers. In addition each site is visited at least every two weeks by a Vigilant Director. Fully-trained replacements are always available for emergency cover.

Administration support is an important factor in maintaining our standards. Our security officers know that matters such as their pay, welfare and working conditions are attended to with the same care, reliability and promptness as is expected from them in the performance of their duties.

The success of Vigilant's recruitment and management policies is illustrated by an unusually low staff turnover of just 10% per annum.
